Advocates for Healthy Living, Inc. wants people with disabilities to be able to use afhl.org. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Measures we take
- Pages use headings, lists, and landmarks (header, navigation, main, and footer), plus a skip link to the content.
- Text and buttons are styled to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast.
- Links in sentences are underlined. They are not identified by color alone. The current page in a menu is underlined as well as colored.
- The site can be used with a keyboard. A visible outline shows which item has focus. On a small screen, Escape closes the menu and returns focus to the menu button.
- The menu links stay on the page if the menu script does not run.
- Images that carry information have a text alternative. The logo is marked decorative because the organization name is written beside it.
- Pages reflow on a narrow screen. Zoom is not disabled.
- Pages do not use smooth scrolling. If a browser asks for reduced motion, we do not add animation.
- These pages do not embed video players, cookie banners, or third-party widgets.
- On October 21, 2026 we reviewed the pages with automated tests (axe-core and Lighthouse) and corrected the failures those tests reported.
Automated tests do not catch every barrier. This was not a formal audit by an outside accessibility specialist.
Known limitations
- We have not commissioned a full manual audit.
- Harvest of the Month videos are hosted on Vimeo, not on this site. We link to them and do not control that player. We have not verified captions, audio description, or keyboard use inside those videos.
- www.sandimasfarmersmarket.com is a separate website. We do not control its accessibility.
- Some photographs show the market. The same facts are also written in text on the page.
Feedback
If you have trouble using afhl.org, email info@afhl.org or call 626-593-9254. Tell us the page address and what you were trying to do.

Another way to get the information
Call or email us and we will help with the same information by phone or email. That includes market times, Farm to School produce details, and a description of a Harvest of the Month video.
